Daily Grind

Hey People,

This is not a post to rant about how stressful my daily grind is.

Grind literally means "to crush". So we all will find a way to grind this daily grind and emerge winners with a big "Yesssssssssss!"

Each day, I will post one sentence which can be something I have learnt (life is a great teacher) or something I have read somewhere or something I have heard somebody saying it. It can be anything relevant to our daily lives. Everybody, whenever you get time, post your own input. Or comment on another's post.

Just one sentence won't take too long to read and a comment won't take too long to write.

There is another reason for doing this. We all want to keep in touch with each other as we are all very far apart. But we don't have anything new to say. So this way we can reach out, even though fleetingly.

So, I am starting with :

(Sorry, it is more than one sentence and don't show this to your mothers-in-law.)

Have a nice day!

Whooo.......... Saa ..........

We are living in a world of extremes. Extreme stress, extreme competition, extreme frustration, or plain boredom.... of course extreme.
Is this the world we had dreamed of? Is this the future we had imagined? What will be our children's world, it is very sad to even think.
So when I am freaking out, ready to burst, on the edge and very nearly tearing my hair, whoo... saa.... comes to my rescue.
Who is Whoo... Saa...., you ask. It is not a who, it is a what.
It is a snippet from the film Bad Boys featuring Will Smith and his partner. They are cops who do the right thing, the wrong way. Their captain is a neurotic whose blood pressure shoots just by looking at them. So he does a ritual. He rubs his ears and takes a deep breath - Whooooooooooo and leaves it - Saaaaaaaaaaaa.
Go on try it. It helps. Each time life is taking a weird turn, reign it by Whoooo Saaaa ing.  Life puts pressure on us, but it is up to us whether to bow down by it or not.
All the best. Have a healthy heart.

This is a story of a kind hearted Mother, who indulged her children, pampered them and loved them unconditionally. When they trod on her toes, she just said "ouch" and ruffled their hair. When they hurt her with harsh words she tried very hard not to show her tears. She told them life stories - which would help them make decisions later. She told them moral stories to make them differentiate right from wrong and hence choose wisely. At each step of their way, she was there to nudge, encourage, advice and support. She was also there to warn and scold so that they knew she was serious. And when things got out of hand, she did not hesitate to discipline with whatever means possible - threats, spanks, grounding. The children, on the other hand took her for granted. They knew that when they get home, she will be there with a hot meal ready. Their clothes and things would be miraculously taken care of. She knew location of each and every of their items.
And the child that she loved the most will hurt her the most; will be the reason for her grey hair and wrinkles, who will appreciate her least.
But that child will be the one to miss her the most when she is not there.
This fact stated above is about us and about our mothers. Everybody knows this or will know in their lifetime.  But the aim of this article is not laying out pathos of human motherhood but rather compare it with what our beloved mother nature must be feeling to be violated by the very children who were born through her. She tries to give us subtle and not so subtle hints but we refuse to see, refuse to listen.
Beneath all the curtain of modernization, please let us not forget basic laws of nature. Each time you find yourself breaking one of the laws, stop and consider...............
Everybody knows what those laws are, they are inbuilt in us. Please feel at least guilty that you compromised.

Hi Everybody !

Welcome to my first blog. I had to start this blog to vent my ideas, my feelings and a desire to know whether I am doing it right. Your feedback will be the fuel to my writings. Few minutes and a line is all I ask. Thanks in advance.

I am starting an educational institute called "HUMAN INSTITUTE" and the degrees offered are "GRADUATE IN LIFE", "MASTERS IN LIFE" and "DOCTORATE IN LIFE". Eligibility for enrolling for Graduate course is :
1.      Minimum age : 30 years
2.      Minimum academic education : Knowledge of numbers and any one language.
3.      Marital status : Should be married
4.      Children : Should be a parent to at least one child
5.      Financial status : Should belong to middle income
6.      Attitude : Positive
7.      Duration of the course : 3 years

Fees will not be monetary but students will be expected to contribute in terms of ideas.
Study material will be provided. Course contents may be altered according to current requirements.
Exams will be both written and practical.

The faculties have vast experience in life. Their main achievement is that they have "LIVED" to the fullest and understood it.

The Principal of the college is a person who in addition to his own life has derived teachings from lives of many others - from past and present. When he speaks, all are forced to listen and remember.

You need not travel for classes. The lectures will be delivered through CDs, internet and telepathy. Assignments will be given and marks will be given on the basis of feedback received. Marks will be revealed only after the academic year. The degree is recognised by all who want everybody to live.

This degree will help the students to go through daily struggles of life with a calm mind and a cool composure. This will help in improving overall health and well-being which will increase his / her lifespan because we are what we think. Mind and body is inter-mingled. All mind and body maladies will be reduced and you will spend your time and thoughts positively and effectively.

They will also be eligible for the Masters course.

This degree is lot in demand lately as quality of life and quality of working has declined. People reach the age of 50 and suddenly realize that time has flown and they have no personal achievement in their kitty. They have passed no wisdom to their children and though they have crossed milestones of education and finance, their mind is disturbed and restless.

So people - please enroll in this institute and learn to get through life with minimal hassle.

Thank you

Sujata Morab :)

The demise of Jagjit Singh has affected me a lot more than expected.
The normal procedure when I like a song is I listen to it so many times that after a point it fails to appeal. But I have listened to Jagjit Singh's songs so many times over so many years, yet they hold the same appeal even now as if listening it the first time. The choice of poetry is such that the meanings are deep and the compositions touch the heart, mind and soul. The voice is so smooth like honey and soothing to the soul. It is sad that we won't hear the voice again.
There are many of his songs which bring tears to my eyes. Words cannot express the feelings arisen by his songs.
RIP Jagjit Singhji.
Can't even imagine what Chitra Singhji must be going through.
